Mansa man arrested for murdering his wife

—-Police in Mansa have arrested a 55-year-old man for brutally murdering his wife.


David Bwalya of Zimba village in Chief Chimese’s Chiefdom is alleged to have murdered his wife Esnart Nkandu, 45, of the same village after a marital dispute.


Disclosing the matter to ZANIS in Mansa, Luapula Province Police Commissioner, Malcolm Mulenga, said the body of the deceased was found with deep cuts and was bleeding.


Mr Mulenga disclosed that on December 4, 2014 around 21:00 hours, Bwalya had a domestic quarrel with his wife, Nkandu who was later found dead.


He said the body of the deceased was laying in Mansa General Hospital awaiting post-mortem as relatives suspect foul play while Bwalya has been detained at Mansa Police station waiting to appear in court soon.


Meanwhile, Commissioner Mulenga has disclosed that 19 people have survived a road accident after the bus they were in overturned after a tyre burst along the Mansa Chembe road.


Mr Mulenga said the driver of the Isuzu bus registration number ACT 9845 lost control of the vehicle after a rear tyre burst and careered off the road.


He said eleven of the injured victims have so far been discharged while seven others, including a one year old baby, are still admitted to Mansa General Hospital.
