CODE OF ETHICS ISSUED FOR TEACHERS

Ministry of General Education Director Standards and Curriculum, Sunday Mwape says the newly launched document on the code of ethics for teachers will enhance public confidence in the teaching fraternity.

Dr. Mwape says the core values of the code of ethics which include integrity and honesty, are not new, except that this time around, they have been documented.

He was speaking during a consultative meeting with head teachers from Northern Province in Mungwi District.

And Dr. Mwape says the Code of Conduct for Teachers will also be used for reference, especially by new teachers, leading to improved efficiency in the delivery of education.

The cide was launched on Feb 13th. During the launch of the document Minister of General Education Dennis Wanchinga said that it is expected that the code of ethics will enhance public confidence in the teaching profession.
Dr Wanchinga said the document’s core values include integrity, honesty and impartiality.
