Kaoma, January 08, 2015 ZANIS— A 65- year old man of Mandevu village in Chief Mutondo’s area in Kaoma district in Western Province has been shot dead by suspected criminals commonly known as Karavinas.

Kanabilumbu Ward Councillor, Misheck Mundandwe identified the deceased as Fredrick Mwenzala and that the incident happened between 10:00 hours and 11:00 hours yesterday.

Mr Mundandwe said Mwenzala was shot dead while attending to his garden which is located along Shikombwe stream.

And Kaoma District Police Officer in charge, James Chitembo said police have launched investigations leading to the arrest of the suspected Karavina gunmen.

Mr Chitembo has however appealed to members of the public to assist police with information so that many lives of people especially the elderly men and women believed to be practicing witchcraft are protected.
