Police arrest murder suspect
Luwingu, 16 September, 2014, ZANIS – Police in Luwingu district have arrested a 22 year-old man of Chibofwe village in chief Tungati for murdering his two-year and six months old daughter.
Northern Province Police Commissioner Charity Katanga confirmed to the Zambia News and Information Services in Luwingu last evening that Rodgers Kangwa, 22, was arrested after jointly and whilst working together with his wife Suzan Musonda 18 and murdered their daughter by pouring hot water on her.
Meanwhile, Ms Katanga said Suzan was on the run and that police had launched a man haunt for her
Ms Katanga said despite pouring the daughter with hot water, the duo descended on the defenseless child beating her for unknown reasons until she was pronounced died.
Ms Katanga said the juvenile sustained serious burns and bruises.
She said that the incident happened on Sunday 14th September 2014 in the morning but the matter was reported to the police station in the afternoon.
The police chief explained that Richard Kabila aged 37 of Fikonkota village in chief Tungati reported the matter to the police in Luwingu.
Ms Katanga said the body of the juvenile is lying in Luwingu district hospital mortuary.
