Chief calls for concerted efforts  to achieve development

Kaoma, Jan 10/14——-Senior Chief Amukena of Kaoma District in Western Province has called for concerted efforts between traditional leaders and civil servants if meaningful development was to be achieved.

Senior Chief Amukena says both civil servants and traditional leaders are in public administration and, therefore serve the same interests.

Senior Chief Amukena was speaking when Western Province Permanent Secretary, Amos Malupenga, who was accompanied by his deputy, Mwangala Liomba, called on him at his palace.

And Mr Malupenga has called for partnership in the resolution of problems in the area, adding that his office will interact much more with traditional leaders in sharing both problems and successes.

Mr Malupenga said there is need to isolate challenges in order to prioritise them although they are all important.

Earlier, Naliele Royal Establishment Acting Prime Minister, Induna Yutanga, urged government to renovate Senior Chief Amukena’s palace which he said was leaking in some areas.
