Western Province Permanent Secretary, Amos Malupenga, says the establishment of new districts is the quickest way to deliver development to the people of Zambia.

Mr Malupenga says the decision to develop the country through the creation of new districts is not based on politics but is meant to actualize President Michael Sata’s directive to take development to all parts of the country.

Mr Malupenga, who was speaking when he addressed civil servants in the newly created Nkeyema District in Western Province, called for progress through the implementation of policy directives from President Sata.

He added that the formation of the new districts has created employment, saying the construction of the district administrative centre and other supporting infrastructure will further provide more job opportunities in Nkeyema district.

And Nkeyema District Commissioner, Yuvwenu Kashandola, said the traditional leadership in the area has allocated 7000 hectares of land for the construction of the district administrative centre.

Mr Kashandola said the mapping of the land in Nkeyema district has been done and the district administration was only waiting for the endorsement from Chief Kahare.
