Govt. releases money for rehabilitation works at Chadiza National Registration Offices

Chadiza, June 28, ZANIS……Government has released KR103, 000 for the rehabilitation of the National Registration Offices in Chadiza District.

Chadiza District Commissioner Paul Phiri who confirmed the development said he was happy with the works that the contractor has done so far.

Mr Phiri said the department of registration was contemplating to extend its office blocks because of the growing population that was frequenting the office to acquire the national documents.

He said apart from the rehabilitation works, the contractor would also put up some self-contained water bone toilets for the officers while some ventilated improved pit latrines would also be constructed for the clients.

The District Commissioner observed that clients were using the bush to answer the call of nature whenever they came to acquire their National Registration Cards.

And a check by Zambia News and Information Services found the contractor CHIVS General Agencies had already done 95 per cent of the works.

CHIVS General Agencies Director of Operations Chris Jere said the works would be completed by the end of June before he hands over the building to the government.
