Lusaka Mayor Daniel Chisenga has called on various stakeholders to support Habitat for Humanity Zambia in fulfilling its task of providing decent accommodation to vulnerable women and children in the country.

Mr. Chisenga said the Lusaka City Council and Habitat for Humanity alone cannot succeed in alleviating the shortage of accommodation for vulnerable people in society.

He said this when he officiated at the 2013 women’s build week programme in Lusaka today.

He said the provision of good shelter to the less privileged people in society can be eased if everyone gets involved.

Mr. Chisenga has since praised Habitat for Humanity Zambia for its dedication to provide decent shelter to those in need.

And Habitat for Humanity Zambia national coordinator Joseph Munsanje said his organisation’s objective was to provide needy people with shelter not only in Lusaka but the rest of the country.

Mr. Munsanje said since its inception in 1984, the organisation has provided shelter to over 2,000 vulnerable people in Zambia.

He thanked cooperating partners for rendering massive support to Habitat for Humanity and called for other concerned stakeholders help poverty stricken women and children with decent accommodation.
