Environment and Development in Zambia (EDZ) will start supplying Tilapia bream fish to markets in Kabompo from its 13 fish ponds at Katendwa about 12 kilometres West of Kabompo Boma.EDZ Programme Coordinator, Chipangile Musongele told ZANIS in Kabompo today that unscrupulous cooler box fish dealers exploit Kabompo residents by selling fresh fish as high as between KR 35 to KR 40 per kilogramme.

Mr Musongele said EDZ will reduce the price in order to allow residents buy the fish in large quantities at affordable prices.

Last week North Western Province Permanent Secretary, Augustine Seyuba who inspected the fish ponds at Katendwa commended EDZ for constructing the fish ponds.

Mr Seyuba urged people in the surrounding areas to emulate EDZ by going into serious Fish farming to alleviate poverty in villages.
