Police hold Mpombo’s son

POLICE in Ndola have detained People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president George Mpombo’s 17-year-old son in connection with the disappearance of a teenage girl of Pamodzi Township.
Police deputy spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said in an interview yesterday that Mr Mpombo’s son, whose name has been withheld, was last seen with the girl on January 11 this year around 17:00 hours on Chiwala Road in Masaiti.
He said police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the girl and will only come up with a charge after the probe.
“I can confirm that we are holding the 17-year-old son of Mr George Mpombo over allegations of a missing girl. So far the information we have is that the girl was seen with this teenager near Chiwala Secondary School and she has been missing ever since,” Mr Hamoonga said.
