The Ministry is also said to be in the process of releasing the September salaries any day from today Friday 4th October.
This has came to light today after a meeting unions representing council workers including the Fire Services Union of Zambia held with local government Minister Emerine Kabanshi.
Fire Service Union of Zambia acting Secretary General Clement Mulenga has also disclosed to Qfm in a statement that his union has been assured that government is putting up measures to ensure that things are normalized in the way council workers are remunerated in the country.
Mr. Mulenga has also disclosed that during the meeting held this morning, Ms. Kabanshi also clarified the statement attributed to her in which she is quoted as saying that salary grants for the councils were on hold.
