President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has appointed and sworn-in ANTHONY BWALYA as Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations.Zambia Army Commander Lieutenant General SITALI ALIBUZWI, his Deputy GODFREY ZYELE, Zambia Air Force Commander COLLIN BARRY, and his deputy Major General OSCAR NYONI also took Oath at State House today.Others sworn in are Zambia National Service Commandant MALICHI SOLOCHI his Deputy Major General RUEBEN MWEWA and Zambia Police Inspector General LEMMY KAJOBA and his deputies MILNER MUYAMBANGO and DORIS CHIBOMBE.And, President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has called on the newly appointed Service Chiefs to protect the country and its citizens as they take up their new roles.

President HICHILEMA says he expects a new way of working in the police service and that the public should have confidence in law enforcement agencies.He says police officers are not there to work against citizens.President HICHILEMA stressed that there is need to restore the rule of law, liberties and rights and freedoms.The President said there is need for the Police Service to work professionally which will earn them the respect from the Public.The President has also congratulated the newly appointed officers and said their appointment is because they are Zambians regardless of where they are coming from.President HICHILEMA also said he has appointed them because they qualify for their various positions. He also has implored ZAMBIANS not to demonise the Former defence chiefs that he has removed as they worked very hard before and after the election. ZNBC
