Lusaka police woman divorced for being a drunkard

A LUSAKA businessman has filed for divorce in the Lusaka High Court on grounds that his wife is a drunkard who fails to perform house duties. John Musonda said his wife Jessie Sosala, a police officer, was a drunkard, a behaviour he found intolerable. He stated that Sosala was financially undisciplined and that she behaved in a manner that he could not reasonably be expected to live with her. Musonda also stated that the two, who got married a few years ago, had lost love for each other. Musonda stated therefore that the marriage had broken down irretrievably.

He added that the couple did not have children and both consent to the dissolution of the marriage. Musonda prays that his marriage be dissolved. “There are no children of the family born outside wedlock now living in as so far is known. There have been no previous proceedings in any court outside Zambia which relate to the marriage or are capable of affecting its validity or substance,” stated Musonda.
