Chipolopolo players go unpaid

Sports Deputy Minister, Ronald Chitotela, has urged Chipolopolo CHAN players NOT to rush to the media whenever they have grievances.

Chitotela has called on the players to present their grievances to either the National Sports Council of Zambia or the Director of Sports at the Ministry and not the media.

He was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.

The Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- is yet to pay the Chipolopolo CHAN players their winning bonuses for beating Namibia on July 4, at Nkoloma Stadium.

FAZ is also yet to pay winning bonuses to the Under 23 National team that qualified to the Senegal Championship which kick-off on November 28.

And FAZ Treasurer, Kelvin Mutafu, said the Association’s target is to qualify for the respective tournaments before it start mobilising funds to pay the players.

Mutafu says FAZ will pay both the CHAN and Under 23 players as and when the resources are available.
