Government says it attaches keen interest to the Wild life conservation in the Country.

Kalulushi District Commissioner Kampamba Mulenga says  it is for this reason government has  supported the Chembe Bird Sanctuary in Kalulushi as it is one of the tourism giants in the Country.

 

Mrs. Mulenga  said this at the Pass-out parade of 19 wild life Police officers at the Sanctuary in Kalulushi, district.

Speaking earlier, Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) Director General Kombe Kampamba warned the would be poachers that their days were numbered as the newly trained officer had acquired enough skills.
Mr. Kampamba said the 3 weeks training had empowered officers with a lot of skills to enable them combat all forms of poaching.
The ZAWA Director General  said this in a speech read on his behalf by the ZAWA Training Coordinator Paul Ziyambo, today.

He noted that Coppebelt Province was prone to various forms of poaching activities, hence for the authority to re-train its officers in new techniques.

 

Chembe Sanctuary Warden Vincent Pye employed the officers to work hard in the area of conserving nature.

He reminded them that they were custodians of the nature conservation therefore, they should work to the task and fulfil their roles.
