Southern Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukuwanu says government remains committed to working with
traditional leaders in the country.

He stated that the ministry of chiefs and traditional affairs was established to ensure government works in collaboration with traditional rulers in order to help foster development in the country.

He said this when he paid a curtsey on Chief Sigani at his palace yesterday afternoon which is his official starting point of touring the province.

The minister said government has a duty to ensure that people are looked after no matter where they are.

He noted that sometimes investors shun doing business in certain areas
due to poor road network, no economic activities and lack of electricity among others which should not be the case.

And Chief Sigani said he is ready to work with the government of the day and is hoping for developmental plans to be set in motion
especially concerning the road network in his area.

He explained that the current state of the roads is very bad and much
needs to be done.

Chief Sigani added that the Lord has given the country a President who
is young and is expected to perform highly.

In response Mr. Mubukwanu said improving the road network remains
government’s top priority and that it will work on as many roads as possible despite having limited resources.
