Book of condolences opens in Mpika in honour of late President Sata

Mpika, November 5, 2014, ZANIS…A book of Condolences has been opened at Mpika District Council Secretary’s office.

By broadcast time, fifteen mourners who included the Provincial Patriotic Front Executive Committee members had signed in the book.

Other notable members of the public who have signed in the book include the chairperson for Pastors Fellowship, Pastor Lewis Shikapwasha and two catholic Clergymen.

Fr. Benjamin Chisulo said he will greatly miss President Michael Sata’s humble background especially that he believed that God’s time is the best.

The clergyman was among the Catholic Priests who attended the November 27’ 2011 thanksgiving Mass at Our lady of Loutes Chilonga Catholic parish in Mpika.

Fr. Joseph Besa of Katibunga Parish said he interacted with President Sata at personal level and described him as a counselor who had respect for the people and the Catholic Church.

And pastor Shikapwasha has thanked members of the PF central committee for resolving the impasse over the party chief Executive officer Edgar Lungu.

Pr. Shikapwasha called on all Zambians to dedicate the first family, the party and the country to prayers especially during this trying moment.

And Mpika District Council Secretary, Kabombo Mutakela told ZANIS in an interview that the district will organize the television set to be mounted at the funeral house on burial day.

He said the TV set will allow mourners and residents to watch live proceedings on 11th November, 2011.

Mr. Mutakela said this is according to the circular from Secretary to Cabinet Dr. Roland Msisika via the Provincial Permanent Secretary for Muchinga, Dr. Bwalya Ng’andu.

He added that the district team will be implementing funeral activities according to instructions from the Provincial Administration in Chinsali.

However, the somber mood has characterized Mpika district during the national mourning period.
