Three killed in Isoka road accident

Isoka, October 22, 2014, ZANIS…Three  people have died in a road traffic accident while one has escaped unhurt after a truck they were travelling in which was loaded with copper flipped- off the Great North Road and fell into a ditch at a place called danger hills in Isoka district.

Muchinga Deputy Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso who confirmed the incident to ZANIS in Isoka today said the accident happened on 20th October, 2014 around 20:00 hours.

Mr Kapeso said the driver of the Scania truck Registration number T699BWV/T814BWB ,Rajabu Hashim whose age has not been established  died on the spot  while his lorry boy  only identified as Harry died in Isoka district hospital yesterday around 01:00 hours.

He said another victim Danny Kafunda, 32, who was trapped also died yesterday in the morning at 07:30 hours after efforts to rescue him failed while the only survivor Innocent Mupeta aged 26 of Amazon Security escaped unhurt.

Mr Kapeso said the truck which was loaded with copper was heading to Nakonde enroute to Tarzana from the Copperbelt.

The deputy chief of police said the bodies of the three are currently lying in Isoka district hospital waiting to be collected by relatives.
