The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has today started consultations with stakeholders in Malole Constituency on the possibilities of increasing electoral boundaries for wards and polling stations.

Speaking at the opening of a three-day consultation forum at Ilamfya Guest House in Mungwi today, Deputy Director in charge of voter education, Josephine Mubiana, said ECZ had started the process of delimitation of wards and polling districts throughout the country.

Mrs Mubiana said the process of delimitating wards boundaries has been necessitated by long distances that voters cover during voter registration and elections.

She added that arising from the population increase the country has experienced there was need for the revision of district boundaries to provide for easy access to polling stations.

Mrs Mubiana reviewed that some polling stations were not convenient for conducting elections hence the need for relocation of polling stations to more suitable sites.
