23 drivers enter Zambia International Rally

TWENTY-THREE drivers have confirmed participation for next month’s Zambia International Rally.
Muna Singh, the rally clerk of court, said in Lusaka yesterday that the event has attracted 20 local drivers and three foreigners.
Muna said the organising committee is waiting for more confirmation.

“We are expecting two more drivers from Uganda to confirm their participation,” he said.
Muna named Gary Chaynes of Ivory Coast, Kenya’s Jaspreet Singh and Tevite Giancarlo of Rwanda as foreign drivers that have confirmed participation.
Chaynes is currently leading the Africa Rally Championship table on 43 points, Zambia’s Mohammed Essa is second with 25 points while Giancarlo and Jaspreet are third with 15 points each.
The local drivers that have entered the rally are African champion Jassy Singh, Kelly Mukosa, Muna Singh junior, Farook Ticklay, Geoffrey Chulu, Yazdaan Ticklay, Shabbir Amin, Miles Monge, Toosail Dalal and Azim Ticklay.
Others are Kelvin Mhlanga, Noel Masadza, Chimanga Biybela, Jurgen Sauter, Zubair Essa, Vyon Pinto, Danny Beaini, Walter Wasamunu, Kumatran Naidu and Essa.
The event will run from May 16 to 18.
