RALLY driver Kelvin Mhlanga on Saturday rammed into two spectators as the Mad Max rally revved off in Lusaka.

Mhlanga, who was driving a Subaru Impreza, failed to negotiate a right turn at Engen service station on Great East Road, just after the Zesco flyover.

The two male spectators were rushed to the nearby Mum’s Care Clinic for attention.

The special stage of the rally, which attracted 20 drivers, revved off from the Zesco flyover, stretching into Great East Road and unto Makishi Road.

The rally covered a distance of 124.94 kilometres.

The event shifts to Graham Rae Farms in Chisamba for the main stages.

The Mad Max rally is the first in the series of the Zambia Motor Sport Association championship.
