A THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD girl has been defiled and killed in Ng’ombe Township in Lusaka.
This is another shocking case of murder resurfacing in Lusaka, with Police issuing an alert to members of the public on the development.
Police found used condoms near her body.
Police spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda said the teenage girl went missing on Sunday this week and was only found dead around 06:00 hours yesterday.
Ms Chanda said investigators had visited the crime scene near Zambezi Market, where passersby found the body.
The security wing was concerned with the rising number of people being killed in some parts of the City.
“As Zambia Police, we are concerned about the number of dead bodies that have been picked in different places in Lusaka. We have therefore intensified patrols in all parts of Lusaka,” Ms Chanda said in yesterday’s crime update.
The girl was wearing a black skirt and a white blouse at the time of her death. Her body was currently at the University Teaching Hospital mortuary.
The killing comes 48-hours after a man’s body was discovered at a farm in Lusaka, while another body of a 16-year-old girl was found in Lusaka West on Friday last week.
On Saturday last week, a business executive was attacked by robbers who spared his life but went away with K68, 000 and his Nissan Hard Body.
The man was dropping his workers in Mahopo area, when he was attacked.
