Zambia taps Indian market

Zambia Tourism Board is looking at intensifying its marketing efforts to promote the destination in the India.

“Two years ago the government of Zambia declared tourism as a major growth area. We are looking at tapping adventure, leisure and MICE segments from India. An ideal itinerary to Zambia will comprise of 10 days of itinerary with three days each at Livingstone, Game parks and Zanbezi and one day at Lusaka,” Mato Shimabale, director for Marketing at Zambia Tourism Board said.

The tourism board will strengthen its marketing efforts with FAM trips for travel tradem, introduction of an online training programme and also working jointly with bigger tour operators to roll out itineraries for Zambia. The tourism board participated in SATTE India for the second time this year.

India is the 10th largest source market for Zambia.
