Drug trafficking kingpin nabbed

The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has arrested one of the kingpins of drug trafficking in Lusaka.

Joe Simfukwe, 30, of House No. 226/16 Chawama Compound in Lusaka was intercepted in Lusaka’s Matero area.

 

DEC Public Relations Officer (PRO) Theresa Katongo confirmed the arrest of Simfukwe who she alleged that he trafficked in four rocks of cocaine.

 

Ms. Katongo disclosed to ZANIS in Lusaka today that Simfukwe was believed to be running a number of peddlers in Chibolya compound.

Meanwhile, the Commission has arrested a 44 year-old woman of Lusaka for allegedly being in possession of more than US$64, 000 counterfeit notes.

Maggie Bowa, 44, a miner residing in Garden compound in Lusaka was arrested for being in possession of US$64, 500 counterfeit notes.

 

Ms. Katongo said the suspect was apprehended at a named hospital along the Great East Road as she was about to transact the money.

 

The duo will appear in court soon.
