Burst pipes cause water shortage in Livingstone

Livingstone, Jan 16/14, ZANIS—–The Southern Water and Sewerage Company (SWASCO) has attributed the erratic water supply in some parts of Livingstone yesterday to pipes that burst at the Zambezi lower water intake.

Dambwa North Extension and some parts of Dambwa Site and Service areas in the tourist capital yesterday experienced low and in some cases, no supply of water which lasted the whole day.

This prompted some residents to draw water from nearby shallow wells and hand.

And speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Livingstone today, SWASCO Senior Regional Manager, Goodson Masheka, confirmed that the problem that was experienced on Wednesday was as a result of pipes that burst at the Zambezi lower water intake.

Mr Masheka further said the burst pipes were attended to and fixed immediately and water supply was normalised thereafter.
