POLICE in Central Province have launched investigations into allegations linking a named senior officer at Nangoma police post to defilement of two sisters aged 10 and 13 years respectively.

A reliable source from Nangoma and Central Province deputy police chief Edwin Bwanga confirmed the development in separate interviews yesterday.

According to the source, a team of officers from Central Province were in Nangoma yesterday to investigate the matter.

Mr Bwanga also confirmed that he had dispatched officers to Nangoma to investigate the matter and was expecting a report from them today.

“It is still under investigation, we haven’t established the truth,” he said.

“We have something (information) like that but we are still looking at it to see what has happened. We haven’t got any details, I have sent people there (Nangoma), they need to report back to me.
