The University Teaching Hospital’s main operating Theatre has continued to operate with a skeleton staff following the dismissal of the nurses who went on strike.
UTH public relations officer Mwenya Mulenga has confirmed the development to told Qfm News that the operations at the Theatre became affected soon after the nurses started their strike.
Mr. Mulenga explains that the dismissal of some nurses has resulted in the main Theatre failing to operate to full capacity.
Mr. Mulenga has however refuted reports the Theatre has remained closed for a week due to the dismissal of nurses specialized operations.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mulenga says the Oxygen Plant which arrived in the country last week has been successfully installed at UTH.
