Copperbelt province minister Mwenya Musenge has commended the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) for partnering with government in improving the wellbeing of the people across the country.

The Minister noted that it is against this background that government has pledged its continued support to the programmes of the church that are aimed at enhancing its growth.

Mr. Musenge made these remarks in a speech read for him by Ndola Mayor Davis Chiwala during the UCZ fundraising service held at Hillcrest congregation in Ndola yesterday.

The Church is raising money for the completion of the church infrastructure at the congregation.

Mr. Musenge was glad to note that the UCZ’s mission has not just been that of preaching the gospel but also construction schools and hospitals among other issues that contribute to government’s development agenda.

The Minister stated that the church has continued with its mission and vision thereby co-operating with government in enhancing the development of the nation.

Mr. Musenge further noted that the UCZ is one of the biggest churches in the country and commended it for rapid expansion in terms of spiritual growth and infrastructure development.

He also commended the church management and the congregation for the successful completion of the office block and the partial completion of the new church building.

“I wish to appeal to all church members and well wishers to contribute generously towards the completion of the modern church as it is a demonstration of a good legacy,” he said.

Meanwhile, UCZ Reverend Peter Ngandu assured the congregation that the money that will be raised will be used for the intended purpose which will also add to the glory of God.

He called on the church members to stand up and be counted with other faithful believers in upholding God’s work adding that it was more blessed to give than to receive.
