'ONE Shot At Love' by Zambian born songwriter tops UK Soul Chart - Amar Naik

ONE Shot At Love, a hit track currently at number five on the UK Soul Chart, is a project by Zambian born songwriter, Amar Naik.
The song is from the four-track album on which Naik collaborated with international singing sensation Bashiyra “the voice” and David Nathan, the authority of soul music.
The track “One Shot Of Love” is from the forthcoming “Zed Soul” project, which embodies compositions and productions with an Urban Contemporary R&B flavour from London-based, Zambian-born songwriter, producer and musician Amar Naik.

With his own distinctive style as an R&B songwriter and producer, Amar is establishing himself on the global music scene.
The multi-faceted music man’s credits include tracks for the 2012 sophomore album by U.K. independent soul favourite Bashiyra (who won the 2011 Nina Simone Award).
Amar, whose musical influences include super-producers L.A. & Babyface and Daryl Simmons among others, started writing and composing in his hometown of Ndola and describes his music as “smooth, soulful and sensitive.
I love making music and if someone can connect with it, that’s a bonus!”
The other song on the album is Lesson Learned, a track that has the touch of the three international acclaimed artistes, while Oooh Yeah and I Won’t Worry have been written by both Bashiyra and Naik.
Naik has his own distinctive style as a songwriter, producer and musician, establishing himself as a hit-maker on the global music scene.
Achievements for the London-based multi-talented artiste include producing and co-writing all four tracks on the album; “One Shot At Love” by the great UK contemporary R and B/Soul singer Bashiyra (winner of the 2011 Nina Simone Award), released in August 2013 on Expansion Records.
The first single, “I Won’t Worry” was listed on Urban/R and B/Crossover top 40 breakout charts in the US, and reached number two on the UK Sweet Rhythms Chart.
Naik, who is in Ndola and returns to England next Monday, said he is currently at work on his  ‘Zed Soul’ album which is set to include a track by newcomer Joshua Charles and UK soul star Chidi.
He is writing some songs in collaboration with David Nathan, the founder of SoulMusic.com.
He said the album will feature world renowned artistes, but he is also looking forward to collborating with Zambian musicians.
