Police arrest 2 robbers armed with explosives

POLICE are holding two men from Lusaka who broke into a building in Kabwe and allegedly attempted to blow off a safe using explosives.

The two entered the shop through the roof but police officers on patrol immediately alerted other officers and surrounded the building.
According to Central Province deputy police chief Edwin Bwanga, after realising that the building had been surrounded, one of the suspects attempted to jump and broke his leg.
The incident happened around 03:00 hours. Police are holding the duo to assist with investigations.
Mr Bwanga identified the two as Martin Tambo, 38, and Peter Zulu, 28, both residents of Matero Township in Lusaka who were driving a BMW, registration number ALE 3854.
