Randy grand’ in Chililabombwe nabbed for alleged defilement
Chililabombwe, Wednesday, May 29, 2013, ZANIS — A 70 year old man of Chililabombwe has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 14 year old girl whom he enticed with a KR 1.
Police spokesperson Elizabeth Kanjela could not be reached for comment by broadcast time but police sources confirmed the development.
According to the sources, Damson Gondwe was arrested after the mother of the minor reported the case upon discovering that her child was defiled.
Gondwe allegedly dragged the girl into his house in PP Zambia Township and had carnal knowledge of her after giving her a KR 1 to conceal the ordeal.
However, the mother and grandmother of the girl noticed that she was struggling to walk and was behaving strangely prompting them to interrogate the minor after which she revealed what had transpired.
The accused offered the family KR 100 to close the matter but they declined and reported the matter to Police.
Gondwe, who is currently detained at Chingola Remand Prison, was scheduled to appear for plea before Chililabombwe Magistrate Peggy Banda yesterday but the case was adjourned to a later date.
