Monze man kills wife, commits suicide

A man of  Monze has committed suicide after murdering his wife over a marital dispute.

Following the incident, Police in Gwembe this morning picked up the two bodies of a couple of Hachumpa village in Chief Ufwenuka’s area who died in different circumstances after a marital feud.

Police in Gwembe confirmed the deaths to ZANIS and that the matter was reported by 44 year old Nildy Namachila .

The incident happened between  20. 00 hours yesterday and  04.00 hours this morning at Hachumpa village in Monze district.

Police have named the woman as  Miyanda Mainza,  23 who was allegedly murdered by her husband Kennedy Namachila, 29.

Mainza sustained four deep cuts on the head after a pik was used to inflict the injuries resulting in her death.

The husband,  Namachila hang himself in a tree using a chain after realising that the wife had died.

Police said the death of Mainza followed a fight after she was accused of having extra marital affairs.

Both bodies are lying in Gwembe district hospital mortuary awaiting burial.
