——Government has commended the national broadcaster, Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) for embarking on an ambitious programme aimed at highlighting developmental projects taking place in various districts and provinces.

Muchinga Province Minister, Charles Banda, says ZNBC is well placed to highlight Government programmes and developmental projects taking place in all parts of the country because of its capacity in terms of qualified staff and state of the art equipment.

Mr Banda was speaking in Chinsali today when a team from ZNBC, led by Director – Sales and Special Projects –  Peter Shula, paid a courtesy call on him at his office.

Mr Banda said such an initiative by the national broadcaster deserves to be supported by the Government, adding that other media must emulate ZNBC by ensuring that they get to all the corners of the country so that people can be informed of what was happening in those areas.

And Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary, Charles Sipanje, says the provincial administration may consider buying into the ambitious programme of ZNBC so that documentaries on development taking place in the districts can be fully documented.

And addressing heads of sections at the provincial administration, Mr Shula, who was franked by the Business Development Manager, Gertrude Sapele and Head of Commercialization at ZNBC, Simon Mwila, said the corporation wants to highlight the strides that the Government is making to boost the economic potential of Muchinga Province.

Mr Shula added that the plans which have already been shared with the Secretary to the Cabinet, Rowland Msiska, will also highlight how the locals will benefit from all the developmental activities to be undertaken.
