—–Kabwe Municipal Council Director of Development and Planning, Daniel Mapulanga, was today arrested for three counts of abuse of office, says Central province First in Command Standwell Lungu.

Mr Lungu told ZANIS in Kabwe today that the joint central province investigation task team arrested Mr Mapulanga for not following the laid-down procedures of the state land allocation in the district.

The arrest of Mr Mapulanga, who becomes the second senior council  official to be arrested as a result of the investigative matters concerning the council administration and land issues, comes hardly a week after the joint task team arrested the Director of Engineering, Cosmas Mpundu last Tuesday.

Mr Lungu said both Mr Mapulanga and Mr Mpundu will appear in court on Monday, March 25, 2013, in Kabwe.

Kabwe residents have in the recent past raised a lot of complaints over issues of illegal allocations of land alleging that top council  officials offered themselves plots without following the right procedures and that some land offers were documented on individual
formulated letters instead of that of the council forms.
