Chadiza council embarks on modernizing the town

Chadiza, February 13, ZANIS ——— Chadiza District Council will soon embark on the construction of modern facilities such as bus shelter and ablution block at Chadiza main market.

Chadiza District Council Chairman Richard Zimba said the construction of a modern facility was in line with improving the general sanitation and hygiene at the market.

Mr Zimba who is also Chadiza Ward Councillor called on the residents to be patriotic by conforming to good governance practices and also by supporting the local authority’s efforts in trying to make Chadiza a better place.

The Council Chairman said this yesterday when he commissioned the market shelter that has been constructed at a total cost of KR32 000.

He said that the local authority has greatly enjoyed the cooperation from government and its partners through grants that are given to the institution.

Mr Zimba said it was from those grants that the council has managed to construct the market shelter and many other infrastructure developments in the district.

And Market Advisory Committee Chairperson Mike Phiri commended government through the local authority for putting up the market shelter.

Mr Phiri said the shelter would be of great help to the marketers as they shall be able to operate in a good environment as opposed to the old structure that was constructed using logs.
