Police have launched investigations into the brutal assault and abuse of a woman by some seemingly drunken men in a video that has gone viral on social media.

Police Acting Spokesperson Ray Hamoonga has told QTV says appropriate action will be taken against the men involved in the brutal beating.

Mr. Hamoonga says Police have so far located the victim, and that this will help in bringing the culprits to book.

He adds that it has also been established that the incident happened on 20th June, 2016.

Mr. Hamoonga has since called on women organizations to help sensitize women on their rights.

And Mr. Hamoonga has refuted reports that the woman question is admitted to Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital.

He says police officers have been to the hospital and established that the woman who is admitted to the hospital is a different person.
