Swine Fever has broken out in Kalulushi district on the Copperbelt province.
Kalulushi District Commissioner Kampamba Mulenga told ZANIS in Kalulushi that Swine Flu had been recorded in Chembe, Chati and Kafubu areas.
Ms. Mulenga has since appealed to members of the public to desist from getting into contact with pigs and eating other pork products.
She has discouraged members of the public to buy pork products only from farmers within Kalulushi and the surrounding areas.
She also discouraged the movement of pigs from one area to another until the disease was completely eradicated in the district.
Meanwhile, Ms Mulenga has appealed to members of the public to report to the district Veterinary office if there were any suspicions of Swine Flu in their farms.
And efforts to get a comment from the District Veterinary Officer Dr. Don Vuttah proved futile as his phone went unanswered.
