The Lions Club of Longacres has spent K2,
800 on Christmas hampers which it donated to the pediatric ward at the
University Teaching Hospital (UTH).

The Christmas Hampers that were given to the children in the ward
consist of foodstuffs, toys and toiletries.

Lions Club of Longacres president Mdaniso Sakala said the donation was
aimed at incorporating children in Christmas celebrations even during
their ill health.

Lion Sakala pledged the club’s continued support to the children’s ward at UTH.

He noted that the club has contributed positively to the welfare of
children in the ward in the past nine years.

He said some of the signature projects the club has undertaken in the
ward are repairing the broken furniture, painting of the ward and
donation of other valuable items such as blankets and television sets.

And UTH Customer Relations Officer Sepo Mwikisa thanked the Lions Club
for the noble gesture rendered to the children over the last nine
years and urged it to continue.
