Shiwang`andu business man arrested

Shiwang`andu, July 29, 2014, ZANIS… Police in Chinsali district have arrested a businessman of Shiwang`andu for alleged theft of property worth K64,000.

The suspect, Taras Chendela allegedly broke into five buildings including three boutiques, a bar and Shiwangándu Health offices all located in Chinsali town centre.

Muchinga Province Deputy Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso confirmed the incident in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Shiwang`andu today.

Mr. Kapeso said the breaking- in happened between 17th and 23rd July 2014 and that Chendela of Matumbo village in Shiwangándu  acted with others unknown.

Mr. Kapeso said the other suspects are on the run and that Police have since launched a man hunt.

He said that the police have since recovered property valued at K33, 000 which was found at Matumbo village four days ago.

Mr. Kapeso said that Chendela will appear in court soon.
