Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) President Fred Mutesa has appealed to government to address the high cost of living in the country which has been compounded by the weakening of the kwacha.

Dr. Mutesa told QFM news in an interview that the majority Zambians are failing to cope with the current high cost of living.

Dr. Mutesa explains that the rapid rate at which the kwacha is depreciating has made it even more difficult for the poor people to afford descent meals.

Dr. Mutesa adds that there is need for quick interventions to bring the situation under control.

He says Zambians are eagerly waiting for government to put intervention measures in place that will stabilize the kwacha.

Dr. Mutesa has since expressed hope that government through the ministry of finance and the bank of Zambia will take necessary action.
