—-Information and Broadcasting Services Deputy Minister Poniso Njeulu has tasked Shangombo District Commissioner and Council Chairman to constitute a Board of Directors that will pioneer the setting up of the first ever community radio station in the district.

Mr Njeulu said the community radio station will only be established once a Board of Directors is put in place.

He said the Board of Directors is cardinal in the spear heading of setting up the community radio station.

Mr Njeulu who is also UPND Sinjembela area member of parliament noted that the setting up of the radio station will greatly assist in the transmission of information within and outside the district.

And commenting on the staffing of ZANIS offices in Shangombo, Mr Nejulu disclosed that treasury authority has been granted to employee officers under the ministry of information.

The deputy minister said that ZANIS officers will be sent to the district once the ministry employs.

Mr Njeulu was responding to Shangombo Council Chairman Dominic Shomeno who requested the deputy minister to consider facilitating the establishment of a radio station in Shangombo district.

Mr Shomeno complained that Shangombo is cut off from the national radio resulting in the locals only accessing radio Namibia.
