Kalabo District Commissioner Masela Chinyama has called on the residents in the district to elect  persons that will not depart from the efforts of development which late President Micheal  Sata started in the district.

Mrs. Chinyama said the country needs a person who would emulate late President Sata’s good governance policies.

She was speaking yesterday at Kalabo High School hall during the interdenominational prayer meeting which is aimed at promoting peace and honouring the late President.

The prayer meeting was organized by the district administrative office.

“Late President Sata never tolerated idleness or wrong doing but was action oriented man. Political players should elect someone who should not depart from the norms of development President Sata started. We don’t want someone who will just be bickering,” Mrs. Chinyama advised.

She was happy that Kalabo residents were mourning the late President peacefully and urged them to continue doing so in one accord.

And Kalabo Council Secretary Milly Muluti called on the nation to focus on God for comfort during the mourning period.

Ms. Muluti wished Zambia God’s blessing.

Speaking at the same occasion, Nalionwa school head teacher Katunga Chimwaso reminded people on developmental projects that were associated with the late President.

Mr. Chimwaso named the construction of the only bank, NATSAVE in Kalabo, construction of a youth resource centre, completion of the new prison, completion of Kalabo Trades School, construction of schools and construction of several health posts among other numerous developmental activities.

He said he had no better words to describe how good and hard working the late President was, but simply thanked him for the job he did during his tenure.

Yesterday’s service was part of the activities that the district organized in honour of the late President besides opening the book of condolences.
