Zimba man sets himself ablaze

A 33- year- old man of Kalangu village in Zimba district died yesterday after locking himself in his house and setting it ablaze.

A check by ZANIS found the man had been burnt to death and the corpse lying in state awaiting burial.
The deceased has been identified as Aggrey Kayobela 33 of Kalangu village in chief Sipatunyana of Zimba district.

According to family members who were on the scene, Kayobela is suspected to have got grass and lit it and then went into his grass thatched house and locked himself before setting himself ablaze.

Efforts to rescue him from the house proved futile because by the time people realized he was burning inside it was too late.

The cause of his suicide is not yet known and police have launched investigations into the matter.

The deceased is survived by a wife and five children.-Zanis
