The second edition of Zambia mountain bike race, dubbed FNB 1-ZAMBIA MTB is scheduled to take off during the first week of June.

Following its successful launch last year, the international mountain bike racing will run from the 5th to the 7th of June.

The FNB 1ZAMBIA MTB will see both local and international cyclists participating for what is billed Zambia’s premier mountain bike event.

“This unique Zambian mountain bike race is running into its second year.

“The course format for stages 1 & 2 will loop through sections of the Lilayi Game Park and then out onto the spectacular trails of the Chilanga escarpment for a welcome finish at Lilayi Lodge,”

“Stage 3 will see riders rise early for a long day in the saddle all the way from Lilayi to Kiambi lodge on the banks of the mighty Lower Zambezi River,” according to 1ZAMBIA organizers.

Riders will navigate more than 230 km in three days.

Organizers hope to promote tourism and the related revenue spinoffs that the event will bring to the local economy as more and more international riders are attracted to explore our beautiful country.
