Mpongwe residents watch Sata’s requiem mass

Mpongwe, November 11, ZANIS—Hundreds of mourners from all walks of life gathered at Mpongwe Baptist Church this morning to watch the live requiem service of late President Michael Sata.

The Mpongwe district administration this morning setup a live broadcast facility for the late Head of State requiem mass in order to accord residents an opportunity to watch the service held at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

And residents of Mpongwe have described 11th November as a sad day for the country.

Mpongwe District Council chairman Chanda Mushipi described the late President Sata as a great visionary leader who had massive infrastructuredevelopment plans for the country.

In an interview with ZANIS, Mr. Mushipi said it was only hoped that late President Sata’s dream of decentralisation will be fully realised in the near future.

Mr. Mushipi further noted that the late President Sata has died at a time Zambians needed him the most.

Meanwhile, Mpongwe district PF youth secretary Tresphold Siame has described the late President Micheal as a great leader who initiated unprecedented development to the country.

He added that the late President Sata was a mentor and a pillar of hope for youths across the country and will be greatly missed.
