Chief –Mumena pays tribute to Sata

Solwezi November 5 2014ZANIS—Chief Mumena of the Kaonde speaking people of Solwezi has paid glowing tribute to late President Michael Sata for spearheading developmental projects.

The traditional leader cited the creation of new districts and massive infrastructure development as some of the programs that President Sata will be remembered for.

In an interview with ZANIS, Chief Mumena, said he will personally remember President Sata as a leader who worked hard to maintain the cultural identity of the country through the creation of the ministry of chiefs and traditional affairs.

He said the appointment of chiefs to serve on boards on various parastatal companies was also a clear indication of President Sata’s recognition that traditional leadership is an integral part to national development.

Chief Mumena said President Sata’s programmes should not end with him but must be carried on because they are meant to benefit the people of Zambia.

The traditional leader has also commended Dr. Christine Kaseba for her outstanding work in the fight against cervical cancer and other injustices like Gender Based Vilence (GBV).

He said government should ensure that Dr Kaseba’s work continues even after the death of President Sata.
