Chief Nshimba mourns Sata

Nchelenge, October 30, 2014, ZANIS…Chief Nshimba of the Shila people in Nchelenge district of Luapula province has joined the masses in mourning President Michael Sata.

The traditional leader in a telephone interview with ZANIS today said he learnt about the death of the departed President with a deep sense of sorrow and grief.

The Chief described the death of Zambia’s Fifth Republican President as a tragedy not only to his family members but all the Zambian citizens and compatriots because of his visionary leadership.

He said President Sata was an honest man and had a heart for the Zambian people especially the poor and down trodden in society.

The Chief who reigns at Kilwa Island on Lake Mweru noted that the death of President Sata has struck just when the fruits of his campaign promises were  germinating.

He observed that the late President remained true to his campaign promises and cited the improvement of the chiefs’ salaries immediately he ascended to the highest office in the land among his major achievements.

He added that President Sata will be remembered for his charming character and the pro- poor stance that distinguished him from his contemporaries.

Chief Nshimba has since sent a message of condolences to the first family and the people of Zambia for the untimely demise of President Sata who died in London on 28 October at 23: 11 hours.

The traditional leader has urged Zambians to be prayerful and remain united during the mourning period and the subsequent time for choosing a  successor to President Sata.
