We’ll skin Mambas – Chipolopolo

NATIONAL team players are confident of overcoming Mozambique in Saturday’s 2015 Morocco Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
And Super Division outfit Zesco United yesterday held the national team to a 1-1 draw in a friendly at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Speaking after yesterday’s training session at Kitwe’s Arthur Davies Stadium, Turkey-based striker Jacob Mulenga said the Mambas should brace themselves for defeat.
Mulenga said the Chipolopolo want to start the qualifying campaign with victory before taking on Cape Verde next Wednesday.
“We want to start our qualifying campaign on a winning note by beating Mozambique. This is a very important match for us, which we need to win at all cost before travelling to Cape Verde for our next match,” he said.

Defender Stopilla Sunzu said the players are determined to replicate the 3-0 victory they recorded over Mozambique in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Chingola.
“We are geared to beat Mozambique. The confidence is there and everyone is looking forward to the match,” Sunzu said.
Striker Collins Mbesuma said the Chipolopolo will not disappoint the nation.

“I am ready to score goals and give my best for my country. My job is to score and I have to do just that on Saturday. It will be a good game. We just need to repeat what we did in Chingola,” said Mbesuma, who scored a goal in Zambia’s 3-0 win over Mozambique on June 5, 2011.
Switzerland-based midfielder Nathan Sinkala said they will play their lungs out to win.
“We have to win so that we can go to Cape Verde with a lot of confidence. It would not be an easy game but we have to work hard to get the first three points,” Sinkala said.
England-based forward Emmanuel Mayuka is happy to be part of the national team.

Defender Joseph Musonda said they will not underrate Mozambique.
Musonda said they will accord the Mambas the respect they deserve but they will not allow them to spoil the Chipolopolo party.
Coach Honour Janza is impressed with the players’ input in training.
“Everyone is looking ready for the match and I am happy with the way they are responding to training. They are all putting in their best, which is good for the team,” he said.
In the friendly, Janza started with Daniel Munyao, Kapota Kayawe, Joseph Musonda, Nyambe Mulenga, Adrian Chama, Larry Bwalya, Donashano Malama, Jonas Sakuwaha, Emmanuel Mayuka, Bruce Musakanya and Felix Katongo.

Mayuka netted from a penalty while Mwape Mwelwa equalised for Zesco.
In the second half, Joshua Titima, Kabaso Chongo, Emmanuel Mbola, Christopher Munthali, Stopilla Sunzu, Nathan Sinkala, Mukuka Mulenga, Christopher Katongo, Jacob Mulenga, Collins Mbesuma and Chisamba Lungu were introduced.
Goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene, striker Given Singuluma, midfielders Rainford Kalaba and Fwayo Tembo were subjected to light training.
