Kaputa Member of Parliament (MP) Maxas Ng’onga has charged that Hakainde Hichilema will never win the election in 2016.

And about 30 members from the opposition UPND and MMD in Kaputa District  have defected from their parties to join the ruling PF.

And  Kaputa District Commissioner (DC), Chrispine Kachusha has hailed government’s various development activities in his dfistrict.

Mr. Ng’onga says  opposition leader’s party is too small and less influential for them to form government.
“For a party to win election it needs to have more MPs in various parts of the country but looking at the UPND one wonders how they can win an election when they have few MPs and are less influential.

“ I would therefore advise Mr. Hichilema to forget about winning an election in 2016” he said.

ZANIS reports that the parliamentarian said this when he addressed a public rally at Kaputa primary school grounds,  yesterday.

Efforts to get the opposition party spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa  to comment on the matter proved futile by press  time.
However , Mr. Ngónga  maintained that the UPND only has MPs in Southern Province and a few others in Western, Copperbelt  and Northern Provinces to  win elections  in 2016.

The PF parliamentarian said those that are supporting the UPND should therefore forget about winning a Presidential election.

He observed that no political party in Zambia has lost an election in a single term and that PF will by no means become the first political party to do that.

At the rally about 30 members from the opposition UPND and MMD defected from their parties to join the ruling PF.
He has since urged the people of Kaputa to support President Michael Sata and the PF government for them to deliver development to the people.

He said the President is committed to the development of the district and has promised to the people of Kaputa a tarred road.

He said feasibility studies of the road has already been and what has remained is for final assessments before a contract can be signed.

Mr. Ng’onga notes that the road will be the greatest gift the PF government will give to the people of Kaputa as they have been denied this from the time of President Kaunda.

He said people should therefore not be cheated by former Kaputa MP, Mutale Nalumango who is now with the UPND for them to start joining the UPND.

He said like the PF defeated Ms. Nalumango and the MMD in 2011,  it will also do the same to the UPND come 2016.

“What has changed about Ms. Nalumango for you to start believing her? A crocodile in Choma river will remain a crocodile in Lake Mweru and any water bodies, ” he said.

“The same Ms. Nalumango we defeated in 2011 will also defeat in 2016, in fact she should not feel important she is not a factor in Kaputa and in the province” he adds.

And  Kaputa District Commissioner (DC), Chrispine Kachusha has hailed government’s various development activities in his district.

Mr. Kachusha said government is undertaking the water rehabilitation project at the cost of K27.6 million to improve the quality of water.

He noted that water challenges has been the major problem in the district but this project will improve the quality.

He added  that government has also approved the water intake from previous Choma to
Mwawe river in Kasungwe.

He also disclosed that government will starting next month embark on the grading of all major feeder roads to improve movement of people
and farming produce.

Mr. Kachusha said government has started the repair of the two bridges in the district which were washed away by the rains during the just ended rain season.
