42 year old Kasempa man dies of excessive Kachasu intake


A 42 year old man of Muselepete compound in Kasempa district has died after excessively drinking illicit beer locally known as Kachasu.

North-western Province Deputy Commissioner of Police Michael Nkaka has confirmed the incident in Solwezi to ZANIS today and identified the deceased as Lason Kashimba of Muselepete compound.

According to Mr Nkaka, Adams Meleki the brother in law to the deceased reported the death of Kashimba to police whom he said had gone drinking Kachasu in Muselepete compound.

Mr Nkaka said police visited the scene and suspect no foul play and that the body is lying in Mukinge Hospital Mortuary awaiting burial.

Meanwhile, an 80 year old woman of Kamusongolwa area in Kasempa district is suspected to have been murdered by unknown people.

Melina Nkamba was found dead in her house around 23 hours on Saturday after complaining of general body pains.

Mr Nkaka said no physical injuries were found on the body but police still suspect foul play and that police have apprehended a 24 year old women identified as Jennipher Kyupa.
